Linda Jackson–Whitmore

Mrs. Linda Jackson-Whitmore has successfully worked in most creative aspects of the entertainment industry, as a producer, director, choreographer, dancer, actress, and costumer. Some of the more recognizable performances include Anything Goes, Oklahoma, Once Upon a Mattress, Guys and Dolls, Oliver, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Winnie The Pooh, The Music Man, Peter Pan and Grease. Other directing credits include House at Pooh Corner, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, The Hobbit, The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe and The Nutcracker. She was Selected by the Fremont Unified School District as Mentor Teacher for the 1984-85 and 1985-86 school years. As a mentor she developed a satellite project "Performing Arts Center". Ms. J received her B.A. and secondary credential from San Francisco State University, and a M.A. and community college credential from the University of San Francisco. She started teaching at Fremont’s Washington High School in 1975 as the drama instructor, director, choreographer, and performing arts club advisor. She transferred to Irvington in 1978 and has performed the same duties for 29 years. Other teaching experience includes part-time instructor in the theatre arts department at San Francisco State University, San Francisco City Community College and Ohlone College’s Theatre Arts Outreach Program.

She was a member of Grassroots Experience Theatre Company in San Francisco for 6 years and performed in numerous plays. Some of her credits include: Company, A Raisin in the Sun, Sweet Charity, Purlie Victorious, Big Mother, A Gown for His Mistress, El Hajj Malik, Montage of a Dream Deferred, KQED Television production of Enjoying Channel 36 film Life Expires.

Jennifer Olson

ICT Musical Director & Magnet Coordinator

Jennifer Bell Olson is pleased to be the Coordinator for the Irvington Visual And Performing Arts Magnet. She received her BA in Vocal Performance from UCLA and a teaching credential from CSULB. She joined the Irvington staff in 2004 as the Magnet Coordinator, Vocal Music Director and social science teacher. Currently she teaches vocal music and psychology. Ms. Olson can also be seen around Bay Area Stages in regional and community productions. Her most recent role was in Role Player’s production of Red Hot and Cole. Other notable roles include Ado Annie in Oklahoma (Pleasanton Playhouse), Jan in Grease (CCMT) Sister Miller in Damn Yankees and Sister Margaretta in Sound of Music (Pleasanton Playhouse). She served as vocal director for West Side Story and Singin’ in the Rain, both with PPH, and Cinderella, Kiss Me Kate and Little Shop of Horrors with the Irvington Conservatory Theatre and as an assistant director for th Danville Girls CHorus for 8 seaons. She is currently working to form the Irvington VAPA Foundation, a non-profit organization to support arts at Irvington High School and within the Fremont Community.

Maia Steward grew up in White Plains New York where she has been performing, teaching and directing for a local community theatre company since she was 6. She started directing with West Co. Productions when she was 14. she than went to Bates College in Maine where she received a BA in Anthropology and Theatre. Throughout her four years in college she was a member of the improvisational comedy group called Strange Bedfellows and she traveled to India and Hungary to study local theatre. She has been teaching for five years and has been teaching Drama for three of those five years.

Ryan received his start in theater with the Irvington Conservatory Theatre as a stage technician in a production of "Oklahoma". He then went on to perform, stage manage, and crew numerous shows with The Irvington Conservatory Theatre. He is glad to be back for a third year as the ICT Production Manager, Webmaster and Program Designer.
